She received her fashion training at St. Martin's School of Art, London, England then returned to Trinidad and Tobago and assisted in developing the first lines of mass produced dresses in the country. She introduced the first major Fashion Week, "Colour Me Caribbean" in 1960 and was later involved in Fashion Week, Trinidad and Tobago from 2008 - 2010. She also collaborated with celebrated designer Wayne Berkeley in the annual production of his prize-winning Carnival costumes.
